Evening Ladies & Gents,
So, I thought I would tell you a little about me and why I am here. I have always lead a relatively sedentary lifestyle. I would rather have been playing GTA or watching films or listening to music than working out. Working out is boring isn't it? Who needs to be slim or muscular when you can create anarchy in GTA?
When I was 11 I was diagnosed with Osgood Schlatter Disease in my right knee. For those that don't know this is basically when the bones grow faster than the muscles. Because of this the muscles get stretched and tangled up causing pain and discomfort. (Is it wrong that I read that back to myself in my consultants voice?). I had to swallow pain pills like sweets for the next few years.
Eventually it developed and I had a piece of bone in the back of my knee like a claw that tore my tendons every time I bent my knee. I had to wait for my 16th birthday before they could schedule the surgery to remove it. When I awoke I was told the op had destroyed my bone marrow and I was going to have arthritis at a young age. I was also told I either needed to be super fit or super thin for my knee to cope. For years I chose the path less travelled and stuck with killing people on the playstation.
Then in 2008 I had a car accident that made me reevaluate things. My uncle trained me in boxercise for a few months and I was hooked. I moved into MMA training and was training for 6 days a week at one point. I then pulled a muscle and hurt my hand. During my time off I met my wife, got married and had a child. Training was well and truly on the back burner. I piled on all the weight again and more.
On the 27th of May this year I weighed 125 kilos. Thanks to a weight loss bet between me and a few colleagues I found the motivation to drag myself through and start training again. On Monday this week I weighed 112 kilos and the changes in my physique are drastic. I also went to Martial Arts last week and will be there again tomorrow.
Assuming I haven't bored everyone to death, the thing I would take away from my experience is you can do it. All it takes is the motivation, I am lucky cause I have a beautiful son and another child on the way as well as my own drive and ambition. Find your motivation, set a goal and reach it!

Introduction to the New Shark in the Tank
Evening Ladies & Gents,
So I decided to start a blog to chronicle my life and progress with my fitness journey. My name is Paul and I am 29 years old and based in the sunny land of England. I am a husband and a father to a beautiful boy (and a bump due to be born in December). Feel free to say Hi, I promise I won't bite. Let the journey begin.
